Waun Y Llyn Country Park - A Local Shoot

The previous weekend I had been over to the Peak District to capture the colour of the heather. However, I do have a fantastic location for heather and landscape photography at the back of my house, Waun Y Llyn Country Park.

It was slightly strange as I was surrounded by couples who had come up to Waun Y Llyn to watch the sunset. This was absolutely lovely to see, but I did feel a bit of a gooseberry and I was tempted to phone my fiancee, Bev, to join me so that I didn’t feel left out! :-)

I did wait and watched as the sun travelled across the sky and tried to time it so that the sun was directly over the top of Moel Famau.

Whilst the sun dipped behind the horizon I lost the light on the heather, but the sky was still gorgeous so I kept looking for other compositions.

I love getting out and about into the beautiful country side, planning my journeys to see these locations at their best.
Doing photography combines my need to be creative and I feel a tremendous amount of satisfaction when all the combinations come together andI have captured the feeling of the moment and created a lovely image.
