A Return to Over Owler Tor
I had visited Over Owler Tor last year, but unfortunately I didn’t get the best of the amazing heather. I had also noticed that there were so many parts of this area to explore, that I had not given myself enough time. So this time I decided to make an earlier start and this time my mate Andy Green joined me.
The above image was the last shot of the evening. The sun came out and lit up the heather, rocks and the sky was gorgeous.
Taken earlier in the afternoon, I decided to do this phot stack of the heather and the rock to get it sharp from foreground to background.
The top of Over Owler Tor has these old mill wheels scattered in a few places. They did make for some nice images and compositions.
The walk up to Over Owler Tor leads through some beautiful silver birch trees. I was still too early to get any potential sunset, so I decided to have a play at shooting some of these trees.
It wasn’t too chaotic amongst the silver birches and the sin did pop out to cast some nice dappled light on the ground.
Exiting the silver birch wood, there was this composition that I quite liked. The sweeping woodland edge leading to a lone tree and the heather.
Toby had a great time being out all day. He had his snacks and plenty of water that this Dad carried around for him. I think this little happy chap enjoyed himself.
