Exploring Blea Tarn

A week off from work and we decided to have a trip out to the Lake District. Because of the distance from where we are, this does not happen too often. But we set off early as we wanted to have a little explore on our journey up. Beautiful scenery but we had decided that our main aim was to head to Blea Tarn.

Blea Tarn

The weather had been forecast as cloudy with sunny showers, so there had been the hope of some light. But not to be, it was overcast and grey, but the scenery was breathtaking. I could see why it is such a popular location for photographers and visitors alike.

On the way towards Blea Tarn we passed Yew Tree Tarn. We stopped off for a quick break were I saw this tree with a slight bit of light on the small promontory.

After dark we set our Sat Nav to return home. The lesson from this is to check whether you have got the setting to car instead of walking. As we crossed Lake Windermere on the Ferry we realised our folly after noticed it would take us 1 day and nine hours to return home.

I love getting out and about into the beautiful country side, planning my journeys to see these locations at their best.
Doing photography combines my need to be creative and I feel a tremendous amount of satisfaction when all the combinations come together andI have captured the feeling of the moment and created a lovely image.
