Into the Woods at Padley Gorge

I’m playing a bit of catch-up on these blogs. As like many of us, the lead up the Christmas can be quite busy. But luckily I have managed to get out and about doing some photography.
I had a few days I had to use up before Christmas, so on the recommendation of a friend at work, Craig Jones, I decided on a trip across to Padley Gorge in the Peak District.

It was hazy with a bit of mist, but as the afternoon progressed there was a lovely sidelight.

Although the middle of December, it really did have a warm early autumnal vibe about the place. It was just lovely to potter about looking for compositions or having some fun with my pooch, Toby.

There were some fantastic characters in these woods, which I hope to return and meet more of.

One of the final shots of the evening was this tree that still had some autumnal leaves. The light caught it just right separating it from the darkness of the forest behind.

Padley Gorge is definitely a location that I will return to and explore further. A great way to spend a nice, relaxing, tranquil afternoon.

I love getting out and about into the beautiful country side, planning my journeys to see these locations at their best.
Doing photography combines my need to be creative and I feel a tremendous amount of satisfaction when all the combinations come together andI have captured the feeling of the moment and created a lovely image.
