Birthday at Rhoscolyn

A lovely location to chill and relax on my Birthday.

When I was born, my Dad rushed to the hospital and didn’t have a chance to buy any flowers. So he stopped and picked a handful of Broom as my Mum always commented on the flower on their travels. Since then, it’s been known as the flower associated with my Birth.

So what better, to include in an image on my Birthday than some broom. Including a sunset on a coastal path on Anglesey seemed completely right for me.

The bay below there is a sea stack that has some resonance with me and a history I find interesting. I’ve copied some info about the location below.

Gwenfaen was the daughter of Paul Hen of Manaw (who also known as Old Paulinus), and sister of Peulan and Gwyngeneu, both saints who also lived on Holy Island. She was known for healing mental illness. While being chased by druids, Gwenfaen is said to have climbed a nearby rock stack and was carried away by angels when the tide came in.

I love getting out and about into the beautiful country side, planning my journeys to see these locations at their best.
Doing photography combines my need to be creative and I feel a tremendous amount of satisfaction when all the combinations come together andI have captured the feeling of the moment and created a lovely image.
