A Walk to Rhaeadr Fawr (Aber Falls)

I had been meaning to visit Rhaeadr Fawr (Aber Falls) for quite some time, especially if there was a hope of some autumnal colour. Over the past couple of days there had been quite a bit of rain so the chances of the waterfall being full was quite high.
So my partner, Bev, my mate Andy and our pooch, Toby decided to head out on the proviso that I didn’t fall into the river this time.

My first images I wanted to be quite moody and have a more painterly feel.
My mate Andy Green was also with me and you can view his images on his Instagram page at, https://instagram.com/andy_d_green?utm_medium=copy_link

It was a very rich location for compositions and playing about trying to capture different images.

Understandably, it was a very popular location, especially with it being a Saturday. But with a bit of patience and some PhotoShop trickery it was almost as if we had the place to ourselves.

I wanted to do some close up detailed images that captured the power and force of the waterfall.

Rhaeadr Fawr (Aber Falls) is a lovely trip out. It’s a 2.5 miles from the car park and well worth the walk. Toby ran himself ragged, got wet and said “hello” to everyone. Bev did a lovely biro sketch, I know Andy got some great images and we ended the day travelling to Llanberis to Pete’s Eats for some food and a big bucket of coffee.

I love getting out and about into the beautiful country side, planning my journeys to see these locations at their best.
Doing photography combines my need to be creative and I feel a tremendous amount of satisfaction when all the combinations come together andI have captured the feeling of the moment and created a lovely image.
